June 4, 2018

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is regarded as one of the most competitive and flexible committees in the circuit. As one of the six primary organs of the United Nations, the UNSC focuses almost exclusively on international peace and security. As a means to accomplish this goal, the council possesses the ability to impose economic sanctions, arms embargoes, financial sanctions, travel bans and orchestrate collective military actions. The council is the UN body which adopts legally binding resolutions and is responsive to emerging crises. Delegates, it is your responsibility now to tackle the issues faced by the international community and try to resolve them in manners favourable to both the world and your respective countries. As delegates in the UNSC, you will be responsible for bringing innovative solutions and strategies on how peace can be brokered in even the most unlikeliest of situations.
